Secret Message

When I walk into the room,

The first things I look for

Are your eyes.

What stormy emotions do they

Hold for me now?

What questions do they make me ask?

Do they dart from place to place,

Unassured of what to emote?

Are they fixed as a stone,

Resolute in their conviction?

Are they as fixed as a stone,

Resolute in their camouflage?

"Are you OK?"

I ask, looking in your eyes.

"Yes, I am.", you say.

In that moment, I know I feel the divine.

It's as though all the heavens and stars

In the night sky,

And all the heavens and stars

In your beautiful eyes

Agree on the same thing.

At that moment, I fully grasp the truth.

Without any words, we both know.

It's time to go home.
